Employee Involvement

PPL Montana is absolutely committed to working with communities to improve the quality of life for today and tomorrow. But our involvement is more than just giving money. It’s through our 500 employees that PPL is part of the fabric of this state’s culture and economy.

Debbi Beartusk, an employee at the Colstrip power plant, enjoys a lunch with the children of the Boys and Girls Club of the Northern Cheyenne Nation. Debbi is a board member and has volunteered with this organization for more than eight years.
They care about making a difference not just at work, but in their local communities and neighborhoods. They work hard every day and then go home and volunteer thousands of hours each year in support of local organizations and community projects.

PPL Montana employees:

  • Were second in employee giving to the United Way of Yellowstone County in 2005, pledging a record $68,000.
  • Serve as public officials.
  • Participate in Adopt-a-Highway roadside cleanup programs and United Way “Days of Caring” events.
  • Help senior citizens clean their homes and take care of yard work.
  • Coordinate fundraisers and purchase gifts of food, clothing and toys to assist “adopted” families in need during the holidays.
  • Coach sports and mentor children.
  • Volunteer to fight fires and help the injured and sick.
  • Hold annual coat drives and help stock food banks.
  • Participate on governing boards of community organizations.
