High school students who are sons and daughters of permanent PPL Montana employees, retirees or deceased employees are eligible to compete for these scholarships.
PPL’s scholarships for the academic year 2010-2011 will be awarded only to students who will graduate from high school in 2010 and enter a full-time degree program in an accredited college, technical school or university for the 2010-2011 school year.
How does a student apply?
Print out and complete the PPL Montana Family Scholarship application form. Mail it to the address below. E-mailed applications will not be accepted.
The application deadline is March 31, 2010. Applications that are postmarked after March 31, 2010, will not be accepted.
How are scholarship recipients selected?
A selection committee will evaluate applications based on high school academic record, extracurricular accomplishments, letters of recommendation and student essays.
When will students be notified if they are scholarship recipients?
Notification will occur by April 30, 2010. A photograph will be requested from the scholarship recipients. The photographs will be posted on our Web site.
What is the amount of the award?
PPL Montana will award four $1,000 Family Scholarships for the 2010-2011 academic year. Each scholarship, payable to an accredited college, technical school or university of the student’s choice, is for one year of undergraduate study.
Are there conditions that scholarship recipients must meet?
Yes. The recipient must enter an accredited college, technical school or university in the fall term following their selection and must enroll as a full-time undergraduate student.
