PPL Montana Employees at Colstrip Give Record Amount to United Way
Company’s Workers Increase Giving by 34 percent

PPL Montana employees who work at the Colstrip power plant demonstrated their concern for their community by donating a company record $74,185 to United Way for the 2008 campaign.

“Colstrip employees increased their United Way giving by 34 percent over 2007’s pledges, which will help organizations and people throughout Rosebud County,” said Lisa Perry, PPL Montana’s community affairs manager. “The plant’s 365 employees really believe in providing services and hope to those who need it most.”

In addition to employee donations, PPL is providing an additional $35,739 in corporate contributions to match employee giving in Rosebud County. United Way programs are determined by Colstrip employees, who choose which organizations they want to support.

“We’re continually grateful for the generous support from PPL Montana employees in Colstrip for our annual campaign,” said Carol Burton, president and chief executive officer of the United Way of Yellowstone County in Billings, which administers United Way funding in Rosebud County.

“Whether it’s providing skilled labor or monetary resources, PPL Montana employees serve as a model for other companies throughout eastern Montana,” she said.

PPL Montana also supports community organizations in Colstrip and the surrounding area. In 2007, PPL Montana employees volunteered in Days of Caring in the community, providing helping hands at The Boys & Girls Club in Lame Deer and the Rosebud Health Care Center in Forsyth.
