Great Falls employees and retirees spread holiday cheer to local children’s home

Friends and family enjoy the festivities, including retiree John Cassidy, who shows off one of the plaques Robert Hopkins made for all the retirees; retiree Joe Levesey and Tracie Zetler, an engineer at the Rainbow Shop; and 7-month-old Jazmynn Marie Enriquez and her mom, Kalli Ostertag, who is Mich Ostertag’s daughter.
The Great Falls hydro operation’s annual holiday luncheon is a time for employees and retirees to share good food, exchange gifts and help lift the spirits of some local children.

Employees, retirees and their families gathered recently at the Rainbow Shop for lunch and a gift exchange to raise money for the Children’s Receiving Home, a 14-bed shelter for abused and neglected children in Great Falls.

About 36 employees and retirees donated $10 each to help those less fortunate, helping to raise $375 for the home. The event has been a holiday custom for about 10 years.

“The luncheon gives us an opportunity to celebrate the holidays with our friends and help us spread a little holiday cheer to children that are less fortunate,” said administrative assistant Mich Ostertag, one of the event’s organizers.
