Next Steps

Work on the Thompson Falls fish ladder has begun with rock removal and excavation. Construction of the fish ladder is expected to start at the end of the year and is scheduled for completion by the end of 2010.

A mechanical lift and sorting tank, which can be used as part of the ladder operation, will allow biologists to radio tag, examine or selectively transport the fish by truck. An area where the public may view the ladder operations also is being evaluated as part of the project.
